Bringing Color and Community to Main Street: CAMS and the 50in50 Project

The Community Alliance for Main Street (CAMS), a nonprofit organization dedicated to enhancing and revitalizing Heber City’s historic Main Street, is thrilled to announce the completion of a new mural that adds vibrant life to downtown Heber. Thanks to the support of several Heber City TAP Tax Grants, CAMS continues to activate and beautify Main Street through public art and placemaking projects.

Our newest project features a stunning mural by nationally recognized artist Cheyenne Renee, depicting Mount Timpanogos on a summer evening. This artwork serves as a bold visual tribute to our beautiful surroundings and a welcoming focal point for residents and visitors alike.

The mural is part of The 50in50 Project—Cheyenne’s inspiring mission to paint 50 murals in 50 small towns, one in every U.S. state, by the end of 2025. More than just painting walls, this project is about celebrating local stories, honoring unsung heroes, and guiding travelers off the beaten path to discover the heart of small-town America.

Since April 2022, Cheyenne has collaborated with nonprofits and small businesses across the country to create murals that reflect the identity and spirit of each community—from towns with just 200 residents to cities with populations of 60,000. A documentary capturing the stories behind these murals and the changemakers behind them is also in production.

We’re incredibly proud that Heber City was chosen to represent Utah in this remarkable journey. This project proves that art has the power to spark connection, bring light to overlooked spaces, and inspire new perspectives nationwide.

Special thanks to our community partners who made this possible: Timberidge Custom Homes for providing the scaffolding, Melanie North for generously sharing her wall, and Armando Quinones, who made sure the crew stayed cool and fueled with shakes from Granny’s during the installation.

Together, with creativity and collaboration, we’re building a stronger, more beautiful downtown—one brushstroke at a time.
